These is one of the most common questions users ask. They saw, tried or bought a new batch of dope and they want to know if it contains fentanyl.
Unfortunately there is no way just by looking at or even trying a drug to know what it contains. Some people claim they can tell if a bag has fentanyl in it by looking, tasting, or trying a bag, but the reality is that this is not a reliable method.
The sad reality is that nowadays almost all the dope in America contains fentanyl or a fentanyl analog.
I've personally tested hundreds if not thousands of bags of dope over the last few years and almost all of them tested positive for fentanyl. And even when a batch does not test positive it is just as likely that its because it contains some type of new analog that the test strips or labs don’t test for or may not even be aware exists as it is to actually be fentanyl free.
Most addicts I know myself included eventually gave up testing bags for fentanyl because now that we know its in pretty much everything andthetesting became pointless.
However I do strongly advocate for safe use and harms reduction.
These are some safety precautions I advise for anytime you use and especially if you are unsure what you are using.
(No drug usage is safe especially not something with fentanyl, however we can minimize the risk)
NEVER use alone. When you are taking drugs the effects can be unpredictable. Even drugs from the same batch can affect you differently at different times. Having someone with you to help in an emergency and call for help can be the difference between life and death.
If you absolutely need to use alone I recommend this hotline https://neverusealone.com . You call them anytime and tell them your location and they stay on the phone while you use. Then they wait till your done and make sure you are ok. If at anytime you stop responding they will send an ambulance to your location.
If you are using alone use in a public place so you can be found in an emergency
Always keep plenty of Narcan (naloxone) on hand. Narcan is an easy to use nasal spray medication that can reverse opiate overdoses (it comes with easy to follow instructions). It is given out freely by many harm reduction organizations and needle exchanges. I strongly recommend everyone looking up where you can get Narcan from based on your state and obtaining it. Having Narcan on hand in an overdose can make a life or death difference. I advise everyone to carry narcan even people who don’t use. Especially if you have a family member or friend who uses opiates. The only thing to remember is that when you’re overdosing you will not be bale to administer narcan to yourself. So again NEVER USE ALONE.
Test your drugs before using. Some countries or states may have free lab testing that will tell you the makeup of your drugs, but even if they don’t you can still test for fentanyl using a simple strip test (at no cost to you we will receive a small commission on purchases made through affiliate links, proceeds will go towards keeping the site running). Just mix a small amount of your substance in a little bit of water then dip the test strip into the water and read the results. Remember a negative result does not mean your drugs are safe. No method of drug use is completely safe. There are fentanyl analogs that do not show up on tests and your drugs may contain other harmful cuts.
GET CLEAN. If you are tired of using and all the consequences, or just want to improve your life, getting clean is the and most reliable option to being safe and improving your life.
